The LeeAngels Foundation Inc is a non-profit organization that advocates for dignified and humane living for our community’s elderly seniors and the vulnerable youth. Our organization advocates for the empowerment of the youth through education and after-school programs. We believe that education can open better opportunities for them that will help to improve the quality of their lives, and give them the ability to face the world head on and to influence a change that will promote a better world for the upcoming generation.
The LeeAngels Foundation, Inc aims to strengthen families by bridging the gap between generations. The elderly and the youth are two of the most troubled and sometimes forgotten about generations. Our non-profit organization’s mission is to promote the vitality of life of the elderly who are aging in isolation. I envision a world in which the quality of life does not have to be compromised and elders do not to suffer because they are aging. I envision a world in which people can enjoy a vibrant life no matter of their age. I envision a community where the elderly and youth are connected by bridging the gap by having them develop meaningful relationships and develop greater respect for each other.
The elderly lacks the necessary resources and funds needed for their medication and are living in isolation and neglect, while today’s youth are often left to raise themselves and lack structure and activities. This lack of supervision can lead to unwanted effect on the youth’s adult life. The LeeAngels Foundation, Inc aims to bring the two together that would help both generations in coping with their life situations. The elderly will get activities that keep their mind going and would have someone to talk to. Keeping their mind going, listening to music, playing matching games all helps keep the mid going which helps the elderly tremendously. The youth would find someone they can talk to, and they will feel needed and would find proper adult role models. This will keep the youth off the streets and gives them something to look forward to doing, leaving less idle time.
With proper funding and support, within a year we may provide a dignified living situation to the elders in our community, enabling them to spend the rest of their lives in their own homes. This support will eliminate the fear of being evicted or having to live without basic utilities such as water and electricity. We also aim to provide a buddy system relationship between youth volunteers and our elders through field trips and outdoor activities. We will plan an excursion to the museum and parks as both locations are ideal for educational and physical advantages for the youth and the elderly. These two goals are a few of the main impact goals our non-profit organization is focused on. We prioritize our elder’s living situation and the prevention of isolation by building a buddy system.
